    Four Institutions Fine 150,000LD in Nimba County for Violating Educational Policies

    The Nimba County Office of the Ministry of Education has enforced disciplinary measures against four educational institutions for various infractions, emphasizing adherence to educational regulations and standards.

    Highlights include:

    1. King’s Institute Mission School System, Ganta City

       - Principal: Thompson Nyormie Jr.

       - Infraction: Collected LRD 262,000 from 43 students for WAEC/WASSCE fees but failed to register them for the exams.

       - Penalty: Fine imposed for the misconduct.

    2. Excellent Faith Academy, Ganta City

       - Principal: Paye Gbamie

       - Infraction: Led students in a street parade and collected a graduation fee prior to the WASSCE exam.

       - Penalty: Fine for the unauthorized activities.

    3. New Vision Academy (Daycare, Elementary, Junior High), Ganta City

       - Infraction: Imposed a KG-2 graduation fee without approval.

       - Penalty: Fine for the unauthorized fee collection.

    4. Prince O S Tokpah (POST) Academy, Sanniquellie City

       - Infraction: Graduated students and shut down the school before the official end of the academic year as per the MOE calendar.

       - Penalty: Fine for premature closure and graduation.

    Financial Penalties and Orders:

    - Each institution is fined LRD 150,000 (one hundred fifty thousand Liberian Dollars).

    - They are instructed to deposit the fines into government funds and provide receipts before the start of the 2025-2026 academic year.

    - Non-compliance may lead to suspension of operational licenses.

    Additional Disciplinary Action:

    - Mr. Fred Sandolo, the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Coordinator of Nimba, has been placed on a three-month unpaid suspension.

    - The suspension stems from insufficient supervision of educational organizations within his jurisdiction.

    This enforcement underscores the Ministry’s commitment to maintaining educational standards and regulatory compliance within Nimba County.
