Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia Intellectual Property Office (LIPO) has extended a warm welcome to the Director General of the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), Mr. Bemanya Twebaze, and his distinguished delegation on their official visit to the Republic of Liberia.

The visit marks a major milestone in strengthening regional cooperation and reinforcing Liberia’s commitment to the development and protection of intellectual property (IP) rights. It also underscores the nation’s active role in advancing the Arusha Protocol, a key framework that promotes innovation, creativity, and sustainable growth across the African continent.

LIPO described the mission as an opportunity to deepen collaboration with ARIPO and to explore strategies for leveraging IP as a driver of national and regional development. The delegation’s engagements in Liberia will include high-level meetings with government officials, policymakers, and private sector stakeholders to discuss ways of enhancing IP awareness, enforcement, and capacity building.

According to LIPO, the visit by the ARIPO Director General demonstrates a shared vision for empowering African creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs through stronger intellectual property systems.

The Liberia Intellectual Property Office expressed optimism that this historic visit will lead to meaningful partnerships, knowledge exchange, and tangible progress in Liberia’s IP ecosystem, positioning the country as an active and forward-looking member of the ARIPO family.
