    Monrovia, Liberia – October 10, 2025:

The Liberia Football Association (LFA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS), on Friday held a high-level strategic meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti, to deepen sports diplomacy and build on the gains achieved during her recent official visit to the Republic of Serbia.

The meeting underscored the growing synergy between diplomacy and sports as a powerful tool for youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and international cooperation.

Leading the joint delegation were Youth and Sports Minister Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu and LFA President Mustapha I. Raji. Both officials commended Minister Nyanti for her proactive diplomatic engagement with the Serbian government, which yielded landmark commitments to support football and youth development in Liberia.

Minister Nyanti highlighted that football remains one of Liberia’s strongest instruments for promoting peace, unity, national pride, and international visibility. She reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with both the LFA and MYS to ensure the full implementation of the Serbia, Liberia sports cooperation framework, particularly in the areas of national team training exchanges and the development of youth and academy-level programs.

Minister Bangalu, in turn, expressed profound appreciation to Minister Nyanti for her leadership and vision. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to aligning sports with Liberia’s broader foreign policy objectives, stressing that such partnerships are vital in preparing the country for upcoming global engagements, including Expo 2027.

The LFA, MYS, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs agreed to maintain close collaboration to translate these diplomatic breakthroughs into tangible growth for Liberian football and the nation’s youth.

Accompanying President Raji were LFA First Vice President Prof. Sekou W. Konneh, and Executive Committee members Pawala Janyan, Ivan G. Brown, and Tickly D. Monkoney.

Minister Bangalu was joined by his deputies G. Andy Quamie, Henry Yonton, and Laraamand Nyonton.
