    Relumae Records Artist Lavein Calls Out Musicians Over Copyright Neglect and Poor Catalog Management

    Relumae Records rising star Lavein has sparked a heated industry conversation after criticizing fellow Liberian artists for neglecting the fundamentals of music ownership, copyright protection, and digital catalog management.

    In a candid Facebook post, the artist questioned why many established musicians still operate without proper licensing, continue to battle piracy, and lack a complete artist catalogue on major platforms such as Apple Music.

    “As a major artist, why are your songs not licensed? Why are you still facing copyright and piracy issues? Why don’t you have a single artist catalogue on Apple Music with all your songs?” Lavein wrote, expressing frustration that many musicians rely solely on Audiomack streams without building long-term career value.

    Lavein stressed that streaming popularity alone cannot sustain an artist’s brand if their music is not properly registered or monetized. He argued that many artists react negatively whenever industry professionals attempt to educate them on the business side of music.

    “Getting Audiomack streams is nice, but if you really want to make an impact in the long run, get serious about getting educated about your craft and evolve,” he said. “Da na whole century we will be knacking old cups and calling it music.”

    His post equal parts critique and challenge,puts a spotlight on a longstanding issue within Liberia’s entertainment ecosystem: the gap between musical talent and music business knowledge.

    Lavein ended the message with a confident warning to those who dismiss industry advice:
