Grand Bassa County has made a bold move ahead of the 2025/2026 National County Sports Meet, officially unveiling Mouctarr Fofana, former Nimba County Head Coach, as the new leader of their football squad.

Coach Fofana, who recently stepped down as Technical Director of Nimba, was introduced to county sports authorities and supporters in a brief ceremony in Buchanan. Known for his tactical acumen and motivational leadership, Fofana is expected to bring fresh discipline, strategy, and ambition to Grand Bassa’s team.

Speaking at the unveiling, county officials described his appointment as a “timely boost” for Grand Bassa’s football ambitions. “Coach Fofana has the right mindset and technical know-how to transform our team. His record with Nimba speaks for itself, and we are confident he will elevate our chances in this year’s tournament,” a county sports representative said.

Coach Fofana expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him. “I aim to build a disciplined, competitive team that makes the people of Bassa proud. This is not just football—it’s about unity, pride, and representation,” he stated.

During his tenure with Nimba, Fofana guided the team through several impressive campaigns, earning national recognition. His arrival in Grand Bassa is being hailed as one of the biggest technical signings ahead of the tournament.

With the National County Sports Meet approaching, fans are optimistic that Fofana’s leadership will help Grand Bassa compete strongly against top contenders like Nimba, Montserrado, and Lofa.
