Liberian afrobeats star Jaredo, once dubbed the “Sensational Hitmaker,” is finally making his long-awaited return to the music scene. After years of personal challenges and setbacks, he is set to release his much-anticipated “Prince of Africa” EP with a listening party on Friday, August 29 in Congo Town.

Back in February 2020, Jaredo first announced plans for a full “Prince of Africa” album, teasing potential collaborations with African giants like Shatta Wale and Wizkid. Fans waited eagerly, but the project never materialized. According to Jaredo, the master files were stored on a hard drive that later became corrupted, resulting in the loss of the entire album.

Now, after more than five years, Jaredo is ready to reintroduce himself to the industry. Instead of the full album, he has put together a shorter EP version tagged The Road to “Prince of Africa.” To the surprise of many fans, the project does not include the big names once promised. Instead, it features collaborations with Lil Moore, his longtime teammate, and Ghanaian singer Fameye.

While some supporters express disappointment over the absence of major continental stars, others remain optimistic. For them, Jaredo’s resilience and decision to move forward despite challenges are proof of his dedication to music.

As anticipation builds for the August 29 event, fans are hopeful that this project will finally showcase Jaredo’s growth, creativity, and determination. Whether EP or album, the “Prince of Africa” is Jaredo’s chance to reclaim his crown and remind the world of his talent.
