    LIPO Leadership Driving Innovation and Creativity in Liberia

    The Liberia Intellectual Property Office (LIPO) is witnessing a new era of progress and innovation under the leadership of
    Director General Garmai Koboi and Deputy Director General Jamus Bannah.

    Since taking office, Director General Koboi has brought renewed focus and dynamism to the institution, ensuring that Liberia’s creative and innovation sectors are better protected and promoted through robust intellectual property frameworks.

    Her administration has prioritized the modernization of LIPO’s systems, improved public engagement, and strengthened collaboration with regional and international partners such as the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

    Director General Koboi continues to advocate for the protection of Liberian inventors, artists, and entrepreneurs, emphasizing that intellectual property is central to national development. She has consistently encouraged creators to register their works and inventions to secure both recognition and economic benefit.

    Supporting her efforts is Deputy Director General ,Jamus Bannah, whose technical expertise and administrative skill have been vital to the ongoing reforms. Together, the two leaders have forged a strong partnership dedicated to institutional efficiency, public education, and policy advancement.

    Under their stewardship, LIPO is not only protecting intellectual property but also nurturing a culture of creativity and innovation that empowers Liberians to compete globally.

    Their leadership marks a significant step forward in transforming LIPO into a modern, responsive, and impactful public institution, one that recognizes ideas as key assets in Liberia’s future growth.
