The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA), through its specialized Unit 711, has arrested an elderly woman in the Old Road community for her alleged involvement in the sale of narcotic drugs. According to reports, the suspect was found in possession of dangerous substances believed to be harmful narcotics.

The arrest was carried out by Unit 711, headed by Aaron Carson, who confirmed the operation during a live podcast from the area. Carson stated that the arrest is part of ongoing efforts by the LDEA to curb the spread and consumption of illegal drugs in Liberia. He stressed that his unit remains committed to the national fight against drugs and will not be deterred in implementing the agency’s mandate.

“This is a strong message to everyone involved in the illegal drug trade: we will not relent until Liberia is free from the grip of narcotics,” Carson emphasized. He further assured the public that Unit 711 will continue its crackdown on drug dealers across communities, regardless of age, status, or background.

The arrest of the elderly woman has sparked mixed reactions among residents of the Old Road community. While some expressed shock that an elderly person could be engaged in such activities, others praised the LDEA for its vigilance in tackling drug-related crimes.

The suspect is expected to undergo investigation before being forwarded to court for prosecution. Authorities say this operation serves as another reminder that no one is above the law in the fight against drugs in Liberia.
