Ziggida Town, located in Zeayeama Clan, Zorzor District, Lofa County, has been thrown into turmoil following the mysterious disappearance of Elder Sackie, who has been missing for more than two weeks.

The situation has escalated into a community standoff, with angry residents blocking the main road and holding two townsmen, Zazay-Boi Kpadeh and Noowo-ku, whom they suspect of having knowledge about the elder’s whereabouts.

According to the two men, Sackie disappeared on their way back from neighboring Guinea after performing a ritual. They claim that Sackie, who was reportedly intoxicated, fell behind during the journey and could not be accounted for afterwards. Their explanation, however, has failed to convince the townspeople.

Ziggida youths, expressing deep frustration, have resisted police attempts to take the two suspects away for questioning. Instead, they insist that the men remain in the town to assist with the ongoing search. The barricade, which has cut off movement in and out of the community, underscores the level of mistrust and the determination of residents to uncover the truth.

Local authorities and security personnel are continuing efforts to ease tensions and ensure a peaceful resolution. However, with emotions running high, the atmosphere remains volatile as the search for Elder Sackie intensifies.

The incident has drawn widespread concern across Zorzor District, with many calling for calm while urging security agencies to move swiftly in addressing the crisis.
