Buchanan, Grand Bassa County – The Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) Grand Bassa Chapter has suffered a major setback after losing its official headquarters to a new tenant.

The building, which for years served as the political nerve center of the party’s operations in the county, has now been leased to Commerce Minister Magdalene Dagoseh. Reports suggest the property will serve as the operational base for her foundation, effectively displacing CDC from the premises.

According to sources familiar with the matter, CDC officials held discussions with the property’s owner, Mr. Sylvester Taylor, in hopes of extending their lease. However, the talks reportedly collapsed after Mr. Taylor declined to renew the agreement, paving the way for Minister Dagoseh’s foundation to secure the facility.

The sudden takeover has left CDC’s local leadership scrambling. As of now, the party has not released an official statement addressing the situation, fueling speculation and uncertainty among its supporters in Grand Bassa. Some party loyalists have expressed disappointment, while others are questioning how such a crucial party asset could be lost without a contingency plan.

Political observers note that the development comes at a critical time, as local parties gear up for grassroots mobilization. Without a central office, the CDC Grand Bassa Chapter faces challenges in maintaining its organizational structure and visibility in the county.

For now, the future of CDC’s presence in Grand Bassa remains unclear, with many awaiting word from the party’s leadership on their next course of action.
