Bosnia and Herzegovina’s top-tier club, FK Željezničar, has officially announced the signing of Liberian forward Jonathan Freeman from Discoveries FC on a one-year deal, with an option to extend.

Freeman, who captained Liberia’s U-20 national team as well as Discoveries FC, has been widely recognized as one of the most promising young attacking talents from West Africa. Known for his pace, technical ability, and eye for goal, the 19-year-old is expected to bring dynamism and depth to Željezničar’s frontline as the club looks to compete strongly in the upcoming season.

The move marks a significant step forward in Freeman’s career, as he transitions from youth football in Liberia to the professional European stage. His signing is also seen as a boost to Liberian football, highlighting the growing recognition of young talents from the nation on the international market.

Speaking on the transfer, officials from Željezničar expressed confidence that Freeman’s addition will strengthen the squad’s attacking options and provide long-term value for the club. For Freeman, the opportunity presents not only a chance to showcase his talent at a higher level but also to open doors for other Liberian players aspiring to play in Europe.
