Paynesville, Liberia – August 8, 2025-The Liberia National Police Academy and Training School has graduated 166 security personnel, marking another milestone in the country’s law enforcement capacity building. The graduates comprise 3 Liberia National Police (LNP) cadets, 152 Executive Protection Service (EPS) cadets, and 11 officers trained in close protection.

At the ceremony, Lofa County Senator Momo Cyrus, who chairs the Senate Committee on Security, Defense, and Veteran Affairs, delivered a motivating address, stressing the importance of professionalism, discipline, and integrity in security service.

“We will continue to work with the Liberia National Police and partner agencies to ensure capacity-building efforts remain strong,” Senator Cyrus affirmed, commending the instructors for their dedication and quality training.

The Senator charged the graduates to uphold the values of the profession. “Your mission is to be protectors of the law, not intimidators. Liberia must be defended not just from external threats, but also from the internal erosion of discipline, professionalism, and public trust,” he said.

In recognition of excellence, Senator Cyrus awarded full scholarships to two cadets who achieved top academic scores in their training. Agent Emmanuel P. Wesseh, who scored 95.66%, and Agent Frank Glady Tweh, who earned an exceptional 99.5%, will each receive funding to pursue their first degree at any university in Liberia.

“As Chair of the National Security Committee, both of you will be supported to further your education,” Senator Cyrus declared, noting that education remains a key pillar for enhancing professionalism in the security sector.

The ceremony underscored Liberia’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its security institutions and investing in the future leaders of law enforcement.
